HORIZONS RESIDENTIAL CARE LIMITED

Mission Statement: “Working together to provide a stable, supportive and caring home promoting respect, values, rights and diversity.”

Senior Residential Care Worker-Job description

Horizons Residential Care Limited is a well-established residential childcare provider based in the East Coast of Scotland and has been providing residential childcare service since 2013. The company won the Best Social Care Provider award in 2019, the Best Care Home Award in Scotland in 2022 and also won the Best Care Home Group in the UK in 202.

The company has undergone major restructuring with a view to enhance the standards and quality of care provision to our Service Users and Local Authorities across the UK. The company expanded the range of services it provides and is opening new homes over the next few months. Consequently, we have a number of opportunities opening up: Assistant Managers, Senior Residential Care Workers and Residential Care Workers.

Horizon’s vision is for young people within our care to thrive in a positive living experience, which meets and exceeds the requirements of the Health and Social Care Standards.

Horizon’s ethos resonates with childcare theory, Attachment Theory, Social Pedagogy and Opportunity led Life Space Interventions. Our care practice aims to promote the development of young people’s coping mechanisms to resolve past experiences and enhance individual capacity in respect of life skills, self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.

Horizons provide, as standard, a staffing ratio of 1:1 (10am – 10pm) who are competent and confident in working alongside young people with complex and sometimes challenging behaviours. Our young people may present with a range of social, emotional and physical needs. Therefore the specialised care we provide requires being adaptive and flexible in response.

Senior Residential Care Workers: (Salary Approx £32,040-£36,200 including sleep over allowance)

The Senior Residential Care Worker will support the Assistant Manager and the Service Manager in the efficient running of the residential home. The Senior Residential Care Worker will be assisted by the Assistant Manager in carrying out the set Duties and Responsibilities. As part of ongoing professional development, you would also be required to highlight training needs and supervision and have an excellent understanding of Health and Social Care Standards.

The ideal candidate must have 2 or more year’s experience working with and caring for vulnerable young people in a residential care setting, who have a range of support needs varying from traumatic life experience, family breakdown to disability.
